The faculty at Aga Khan University is a diverse, international community of mentors serving in eight countries, practicing research and scholarship, and upholding the University's mission of academic excellence. At the School of Nursing in Karachi, and the Advanced Nursing Programmes in East Africa, the efforts and accomplishments by the faculty have helped provide a positive impression of the nursing profession in the East Africa and South Asia regions. The faculty at the Medical College has mentored 1,529 graduates and remains actively engaged in the field through publications, research and pursuit of higher qualifications. At the Institutes for Educational Development in Pakistan and East Africa, the faculty members are making innovations in curriculum design and modern teaching techniques. By training teachers and improving their skills, the faculty at AKU-IED is working to improve the standards of education in developing countries. In London, faculty at the Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations has grown in numbers and diversity. Speaking several languages and representing nine countries, AKU-ISMC faculty is guiding students to explore, understand and appreciate the rich heritage of Islamic civilisations.

AKU's faculty are teachers, mentors and learners, a dynamic that helps keep the University internationally competitive.
