Child-to-Child
The Child-to-Child (CtC) Trust, UK, works to promote the health of communities worldwide by encouraging and enabling children and young people to play an active and responsible role in the health and development of themselves, other children and their families. The Trust's main operational objective is to support national and regional CtC resource groups to strengthen their development and enable them to share more equally key aspects of the international role of CtC undertaken by the Child-to-Child International Network.
There are 80 countries which has projects promoting health in schools and communities through CtC approach. The CtC Trust has selected following four organisations as its regional resource groups (RGs):
- The Arab Resource Collective (ARC) Cyprus/Lebanon
- The Centre for Health Education, Training and Nutrition Awareness (CHETNA), India
- Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development's (AKU-IED) project Health Action Schools (HAS) Pakistan
- The Kenya AIDS NGOs Consortium (KANCO), Kenya
AKU-IED, along with other four partners, works jointly with the Trust in a four-year project (March 2004 to February 2008). The project is funded by Comic Relief, a UK-based international funding agency. The goal of the project is to strengthen Child-to-Child International Network by strengthening the capacity of network partners, both as separate organisations and as a learning network.
