Dr Nilofar Vazir joined AKU-IED in 1994 as an Academic Consultant. She has served the Institution as Coordinator of Certificate in Education (Cert.Ed) and Masters in Education (MEd) Programs at IED. Currently she is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) Programmes at the Institute.

Dr Vazir completed her PhD in Teacher Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, (OISE, University  of Toronto ) in 2003. During her professional career, she has attended various conferences and presented several papers at local, national and international levels.

Dr Vazir has had considerable experience in both academic and school administration. Before joining AKU-IED, she served as the Regional Director of City School System. She has several years of experience teaching Early Childhood Education (ECE), both at Montessori and Primary levels. At AKU-IED, she has taught Certificate, Advanced Diploma and MEd Courses. She has also led a faculty team that conducted AKU-IED programmes for teachers in Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) School, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She continues to teach, conduct research and supervise Dissertations at the Masters level and conducts educational programmes as per contextual needs at different institutions.
