Short Courses at the Aga Khan University Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC) seek to promote a sound understanding of Muslim cultures through an intellectually stimulating and inspiring survey of the histories and cultures of Muslims using the tools of the social sciences and humanities. Our courses are open to all and the wide range of topics caters to many interests. Whether you are a newcomer to Muslim cultures or wish to complement your lived experiences of these cultures with academic study, our courses offer a wonderful start to your journey.
Courses for Teachers and Other Customised Courses
In addition to short courses, the Institute has also offered certificate level courses to teachers of secondary schools as well as customised courses to diplomats in Canada, Germany and Belgium. These were designed in close collaboration with the sponsoring bodies to cater to their specific needs.
